DANCE CLASSES

Dance classes are held at various times throughout the year according to a schedule based on demand. If you are a prospective new or returning student interested in learning the art of Hawaiian dance, take advantage of this opportunity to register for classes during their open enrollment periods. 

New classes may be offered throughout the year; so, if you do not see a class currently opened to you, please check back.  You may also write or call the Barefoot Hawaiian office.  Tell us what classes you are interested in taking, and we'll put you on a list to be contacted and sent a flier of a class that matches your request once we have opened enrollment for that class.

Ladies (Wahine) Adult Hula - Fall Session #2 -  6 Week Class

Advanced Registration for this Class is Now Open

6 Week Class on Monday Evenings starting November 16, 2026

This class is for ladies who want to learn or continue learning Hula for fun, pleasure, and exercise.
This is a relaxed, no-pressure dance class for the non-competitive, non-professional dancer who wants to learn Hula strictly for fun, pleasure, and exercise. 
No previous dance experience needed (Hula or otherwise).  Learn Hula in just 6 weeks!
A total of 6 classes running on consecutive Monday Evenings, 
7:00 - 7:45 PM, starting September 21.
Dates are: November 16, 23, & 30; December 7, 14, & 21, 2026.
Tuition is $140.00 for the complete 6-week course.
This is an open class, all ladies welcome to register, no previous experience needed
Advanced Registration Deadline is November 9, 2026
Don't hesitate registering in advance if you plan to attend.
While late enrollment may be offered later, the class may be cancelled if the minimum number of advanced registrations is not met, not to mention, late enrollment may not be offered at all if the maximum number is reached.

Professional Division Dancers Training  

6 Week Class on Thursdays starting October 1, 2026

This is an intensive dance training class for men and women wishing to further their skills as a professional Polynesian dancer or to maintain their skills and status as a professional dancer of the Barefoot Hawaiian Performing Arts Company.
A total of 6 classes running on Thursday Evenings
7:00 - 8:00 PM starting October 1, 2026.
Class Dates are: October 1, 8, 15, 22, November 5, & 12, 2026
Note that we skip over October 29
Tuition is $135.00 for the complete 6-week course..
Prerequisites and acceptance required to enroll in this class.
This is class is for the professional dancer who is already part of or hopes to be a part of the Barefoot Hawaiian performing arts dance troupe.

Barefoot Hawaiian Dance Classes are held in the Northwestern suburbs of Chicago in Des Plaines, Illinois

20 minutes from O'Hare International Airport, and 10 minutes off I-294.  Plenty of free parking.
